Highway 1 – 264th Street Interchange Project

Project Description

The Project includes the following elements:
• Upgrading the existing 264th Street interchange to accommodate increased traffic volumes and highway widening. The structures and ramps will be designed to current standards to improve safety and reliability.
• Highway 1 widening to include:
– an HOV / EV lane in each direction, from approximately 1.6km west of 264th Street to 3.7km east; and
– bus-on-shoulder lane in each direction, for approximately 3.7km east of 264th Street.
• Active transportation infrastructure improvements, including:
– a multi-use path (MUP) along the north side of Highway 1 from the 264th Street interchange to approximately 3.7km east; and
– improved active transportation connections at the 264th Street interchange.
• A new transit exchange at the 264th Street interchange, including a bus loop and vehicle parking with approximately 180-200 stalls.
• A new truck parking lot at the 264th Street interchange with approximately 25 stalls.
