Project Details

Project Description:  Cariboo Memorial Hospital Redevelopment Project will result in the development of new clinical and support spaces that will be constructed in a new expansion and in renovated space on the existing Cariboo Memorial Hospital site. This includes the emergency department, medical/surgical inpatient units, maternal care and women’s health, mental health and substance use inpatient unit, pharmacy services and University of British Columbia faculty of medicine academic space.

Cariboo Memorial Hospital serves the population living in Williams Lake and in adjacent rural and remote areas including the Cariboo Chilcotin and 100 Mile House Local Health Areas. Cariboo Memorial Hospital is located within the traditional territories of the Secwepemc (Shuswap Interior Salish) First Nation, with two other First Nations in close proximity, including the Tsilhqot’in (Chilcotin) First Nation, and Dãkelh Dene (Carrier) First Nation.

The Cariboo Memorial Hospital Redevelopment Project is being phased to allow for continuity of hospital services throughout.
